How to generate a blog post outline
Writing consistent content for your online shop is easier when you start with a clear structure. An outline helps you map out your main points and ensures your post flows logically, helping you focus on writing instead of wondering what to cover next.
How to create your outline
You can generate a structured outline directly within the WordPress editor using the built-in AI tools.
- Open a New Post: Log in to your WooShop dashboard, go to Posts, and click Add New.
- Access the AI Assistant: Click the Kadence AI icon (usually a small star or spark logo) in the top toolbar of the editor.
- Select the "Outline" Tool: From the list of options, choose Blog Post Outline.
- Enter Your Topic: Type a brief description of what your post is about. For example, "How to care for leather boots" or "Top 5 recipes using our house-blend coffee."
- Refine the Tone: Choose a tone that matches your brand, such as "Friendly" or "Professional."
- Generate and Review: Click the button to generate the outline. You will see a list of headings (H2s and H3s) and bullet points.
- Insert into Post: If you like the result, click Insert. The outline will be placed directly into your editor as a series of heading blocks.
Practical scenarios
- Product Education: If you sell specialized equipment, use an outline to create a "How-To" guide. The tool will suggest sections for "Preparation," "Step-by-Step Instructions," and "Maintenance Tips."
- Seasonal Promotions: If you run a clothing boutique, ask for an outline on "Spring Style Trends." It will likely suggest sections for different clothing categories or color palettes.
- Customer FAQs: Turn common customer questions into a long-form article. An outline ensures you cover every detail of the shipping process or your return policy.
Troubleshooting
The outline is too generic
If the results feel too broad, try being more specific in the topic box. Instead of "Dog food," try "The benefits of grain-free treats for senior Labradors."
The headings aren’t the right size
The generator usually defaults to H2 headings. If you need to change them, click on the specific heading block in the editor and use the toolbar to switch it to an H3 or H4.
The AI icon is missing
Ensure you are using the Block Editor (Gutenberg) and not the Classic Editor. If you still don’t see it, check that your Kadence plugins are active in the Plugins menu.
Summary
Using an outline saves time and keeps your blog posts organized for both readers and search engines. Once your structure is in place, you simply need to fill in the sections with your expertise.
