Creating page layouts from prompts
Generating page layouts from prompts allows you to build custom website sections by simply describing what you need. Instead of starting with a blank screen, you can provide a few details about your page, and WooShop will generate a professional layout with relevant text and images tailored to your business.
How to generate a layout
Follow these steps to create a new page section using the design library.
- Open the editor: Log in to your WooShop dashboard and create a new page or edit an existing one.
- Open the Design Library: Click the blue Design Library button at the top of the editor screen.
- Choose your category: On the left sidebar, select Patterns. You will see a search or prompt bar at the top of the library window.
- Enter your prompt: In the text field, describe the section you want to create. Be specific about the purpose of the section (e.g., "A pricing table for a yoga studio" or "An about us section for a coffee roaster").
- Select a layout: The library will generate several options based on your description. Click on the layout that best fits your vision to preview it.
- Insert and customize: Click the Insert button to add the layout to your page. You can now click on any text or image to swap it out with your own content.
Practical examples
Using specific prompts yields better results than generic ones. Here are a few ways to use this feature:
- Restaurant Menu: Use a prompt like "A clean menu section for a bistro featuring appetizers, mains, and desserts with price points."
- Service Business: Try "A three-column layout showing plumbing services with icons and brief descriptions."
- Flash Sale: Enter "A bold hero section for a 24-hour clothing sale with a large call-to-action button."
Troubleshooting common issues
The generated text doesn’t sound like my brand
The prompt tool provides a starting point. If the tone is off, you can manually edit the text directly in the editor or try a more descriptive prompt that includes your brand’s "voice" (e.g., "A friendly, casual greeting for a pet store").
Images aren’t relevant to my shop
The system pulls high-quality placeholder images based on your keywords. If they don’t match your specific products, click the image block and select Replace to upload your own photos from your Media Library.
The layout looks different from my site’s colors
Generated patterns automatically try to adopt your global theme colors and fonts. If something looks out of place, check your Global Styles in the Kadence settings to ensure your site-wide color palette is configured correctly.
No layouts appear after searching
Ensure you are connected to the internet and that your WooShop subscription is active. If the search returns no results, try using simpler keywords like "Contact form" or "Testimonials" instead of long sentences.
Recap
Creating layouts from prompts is the fastest way to add new content to your site without needing design skills. By providing a clear description, you get a structured section ready for your final touches.
